This past Christmas and throughout most of 2010, the top rated toy for kids has been the Sing-A-Ma-Jig.  I rememebr the first time I saw one of these strange critters was at Toy’s R Us during the holidays.  There was a large bin full of them and several dozen parents were clawing over them, squeezing them to hear the song they sing.  It is humorus how we can look back over the years and see the hot toys of the season and how people go crazy to buy them.

When Jesus revealed himself to the world as the Messiah, he drew crowds. People did crazy things to see him all the time.  It reminded me about an incident in Mark 2:1-5.

1 A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3 Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. 4 Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

What if we were as crazy to get  close to Jesus as we are about the newest toy on the market?  This week think of a way to have a faith like that, and put it into action.  Just don’t go though someone’s ceiling!
