No Fear

If you were at Valley Mills on Sunday you had the chance to see the kids sing for “big” church.  I love watching kids sing, you always get the extremes.  It was interesting on Sunday to see all the different expressions from the kids, especially the ones who were hamming it up with no fear of the large crowd.  I was really impressed with some of our visiting children who heard the song for the first time that morning and still wanted to get up and sing.

We adults lose that “fearlessness” as we get older.  We can, at times, be so consumed with what people will think or what will they say.    In 2 Thessalonians 2:14-15 says this, “He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” How often to we get scared to share what the Bible teaches us?  Do we stay quiet because our opinion that is based on Christ’s teachings are not what society holds to be “true”?

This week I am pushing myself to stand firm, not to be shaken, to speak God’s truth, no matter what people may say or think.  I hope you will stand with me!
